The EUR 10 million clinic is the first one in Croatia and the wider region to offer early lung cancer screening, performed with state-of-the-art CT scans using minimum doses of radiation.
The clinic offers other diagnostic procedures such as breast cancer screening and virtual colonoscopy.
It also offers the monitoring of the effect of chemotherapy and computer-assisted diagnostics.
Ahead of World Cancer Day, February 4, the clinic was opened by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
Attending the opening ceremony, among numerous guests, was also Health Minister Milan Kujundzic.
Radiosurgery treats disorders with a precise delivery of a single, high dose of radiation. Focused radiation beams are delivered to a specific area to destroy cancer in a non-invasive way and with minimum damage to the surrounding tissue. A treatment session does not last long and the patient is released immediately afterwards.
