Eurowings increasing flights out of Germany to Croatia

Author: Vojo Micak

ZAGREB, Jan 27 (Hina) - German low-cost airline Eurowings, a member of the Lufthansa Group, is increasing the number of flights to Croatia this year, the airline's executives told Croatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli on Friday.

Eurowings is increasing the number of flights to Rijeka's airport on Krk island, and is launching new routes out of Munich to Pula and Zadar, three times a week from March to October.

The airline is also launching a route out of Dusseldorf to Pula and is expanding the flight season out of Berlin and Stuttgart from April to October. There will also be flights from Vienna to Zadar from April to October.

Eurowings, which took over operations from Germanwings, is increasing the number of flights to Split, so that during the peak summer season this southern Adriatic city will be connected with Dusseldorf every day except Wednesdays.

New routes to continental Croatia are also planned, with direct flights between Osijek and Stuttgart to be operated twice weekly between May and October.

Minister Cappelli is also scheduled to meet with Eurowings executives at the ITB travel show in Berlin in early March to discuss further promotion and possibly new direct flights to Croatia out of airports in eastern Germany and airports outside Germany, the Tourism Ministry said in a press release.
