The IT consulting director was commenting on EY's latest global research on information security, which concluded that global organisations are better at predicting and resisting cyber attacks than smaller and local ones but find it hard to recover nonetheless.
"In the world, just as in Croatia, companies most often recognise those attacks when it's too late, unfortunately, when they have already been attacked. The reason is insufficient investing in prevention," Bozicev said, adding that progress in protection advancement was visible both globally and in Croatia.
However, since hackers are constantly developing new threats, it is necessary to constantly advance and upgrade security systems, she said. "In case of an attack, a swift response is important at the level of the entire organisation in order to protect buyers, employees, suppliers as well as the company's future."
Over 1,700 organisations worldwide took part in the EY information security survey, of which half said they were able to detect sophisticated cyber attacks, which is a big step forward, as a result of additional investing in tools and processes which make it possible to predict what to expect from a cyber attack as well as in tracing mechanisms, security operational centres and active defence mechanisms.
