Iron Maiden singer Dickinson speaks at EBAN conference in Zagreb

Author: Marija Šestan

ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden, a commercial pilot and entrepreneur said in his speech at the EBAN Winter University 2016 conference in Zagreb on Tuesday that it was important to foster direct communication among people which, he said, had been neglected with the appearance of new technologies.

People are important. Conversation is important. It is not seldom that people lack direct mutual contact. We live in a digital era, we communicate by e-mail, we seek excuse for not talking to one another, said Dikinson, who was introduced to the conference as the lead singer of Iron Maiden, a commercial pilot, brewmaster, entrepreneur and creative business thinker.

He has been a pilot and Marketing Director for Astraeus Airlines, a company which leases aircraft to other carriers. Dickinson "is also the man behind the company Cardiff Aviation which specialises in heavy maintenance of Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft," it is noted on the conference's web site.

Dickinson also urged people to be agile and brave in efforts to attain the aims in which they believe.

He added that every man was a unique brand and that the quality of that brand depended on the integrity of the person.

The EBAN Winter University is one of Europe's largest and most international business angel events held annually by EBAN in cooperation with its best members. After 14 successful editions of the event, the last of which were held in Helsinki in 2014 and Copenhagen in 2015, this year's edition is taking place Zagreb on 29-30 November.

The two-day conference, taking place at the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall, was organised by the Croatian Business Angels Network (CRANE), the City of Zagreb and the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and it brought together over 1,000 participants from Croatia and abroad.
