The 20th CHF China was held recently in Shanghai. The trade show features exclusively imported products and international brands made in China and it is attended by more than 2,000 exhibitors from 66 countries.
This year's edition of the event focused on food products and drinks produced outside China.
Podravka, based in Koprivnica, opened its Chinese representation in Beijing in 2015, after which it registered a large number of its products on the Chinese market.
Considering the small size of the Croatian market in relation to China's and the fact that a bigger market share in China requires good branding and greater product visibility, Podravka's success in just one year is exceptionally significant.
As of this year Podravka's products are sold in some of the most important retail chains in Beijing and Shanghai which specialise in selling imported food and whose clients are foreign nationals who live in those cities and the middle and upper-class Chinese with a high purchasing power.
Podravka products can be bought at Jenny Lou, Jenny Wang and April Gourmet in Beijing and at the Japanese retail chain Family Mart in Shanghai.
Podravka sells on the Chinese market its Studena mineral water, jams and marmalades, the Linolada nougat spread, pastas and sauces, instant soups and the Lino baby cereals.
The company's representation in Beijing expects contracts to be signed in the coming weeks with two more retail chains, 7-Eleven and Lawson. Podravka also sells its products in China on-line and offers home delivery.
