Plenkovic expressed regret at the outcome of the British referendum on the exit from the European Union in June, and said that Zagreb wanted to develop strong relations with London and ensure freedom of movement for workers, according to a press release issued by the government after the Plenkovic-Johnson talks.
Johnson was quoted as saying that it is not in Britain's interest to see the EU weaken and that London opts for strong partnership with the EU.
The British Foreign Secretary said that Brexit would not affect the common trade policy.
Johnson is also due to meet his Croatian counterpart, Davor Ivo Stier. Jonson's arrival in Zagreb ensued a month after President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic paid an official visit to London.
