In the period from January to October 2016, a total of 37,805 new vehicles were sold, up 20.7% over the same period in 2015 when 31,299 cars were sold.
In October, the most sought-after car model in Croatia was the Volkswagen (VW) Golf, with 115 units sold, followed by the Skoda Octavia and the Suzuki Vitara (both 111) and the Skoda Fabia (108).
Last month VW sold 440 vehicles in Croatia, Skoda sold 344 and Renault 212. In the so-called premium segment, the top three brands included BMW (103 units sold), Audi (93) and Mercedes (77).
In the first ten months of 2016, VW sold 5,330 cars in Croatia, Opel sold 3,715, Renault 3,212, Skoda 3,108 and Ford 2,650.
Broken down by fuel, 57% of the vehicles sold use diesel and 41% petrol, while the rest use other types of fuel.
