"We reached agreement with our partners about the concept of the plan, which essentially remains unchanged. The emphasis remains on strengthening the system of waste separation and recycling, without which Croatia will not be able to separate 50% of paper, glass, metal and plastic by 2020," said Minister Slaven Dobrovic.
He said the draft plan represented a positive turnaround in the waste management policy in line with circular economy principles and that it would provide a good basis for the development of the recycling industry and job creation.
"The objective is for the government to adopt the plan by the end of this year so that Croatia can start using EUR 475 million from EU funds for waste management projects," Dobrovic said.
