The Croatian Youth Network (MMH), the umbrella organisation of more than 60 associations of young people in Croatia, says in its quarterly report on the position of young people on the labour market that the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) category is increasingly used as a relevant indicator of the social status of young people because it indicates the number of them "outside the system".
Croatia ranks high among EU countries in respect of the share of young people in the NEET group, right after Bulgaria, Italy and Greece, which the MMH says is worrying.
