Croats happy with personal life, unhappy with state of affairs in society

ZAGREB, July 9 (Hina) - A majority of Croatians consider the overall situation in the country worrying, however, they are satisfied with their personal lives, according to a survey conducted by the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar.

The findings of the survey conducted among 750 respondents show that 49% of those polled assess the situation in the country as bad and 28.2% as very bad, which was more than in the previous survey.

According to the findings presented on Friday, 15.6% of Croats find the situation in the country rather good, and 7.2% believe that the state of affairs is good or very good.

Although they seem dissatisfied with the overall situation, a majority, that is 58% of those polled, do not consider leaving the country, and a quarter, 25%, say they are thinking of this option from time to time, while 6.2% of those polled say they will certainly emigrate.

As for confidence they place in state institution, the Croatians most trust the army that is given a score of 5.67 on a scale from 0 to 10. Political parties, for instance get the score of 2.5.
