Alvaro Siza, a Pritzker Prize winner, attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition closes on 31 August.
"Alvaro Siza is one of the main protagonists of today’s architecture scene who will have his project for a chapel realised soon in Croatia. The exhibition is the result of a lasting cooperation and friendship between this architect and Oris, enabled by the sponsorship of the Embassy of Portugal here in Zagreb as a part of their celebration of the Day of Portugal," according to information provided on the web site of the Oris House of Architecture.
"The drawings of Alvaro Siza show religiousness as a theatre of humanity. This dramatic story about the social disorders and hopes can serve to him (and to us) as a mirror. But, in order to stay faithful to the humane, in between the lines, we can discern a definite and pulsating enigma,". the catalogue of the exhibition quoted Jose Tolentino Mendonca as saying.
During his stay in Croatia, Siza will travel to the village of Zorkovac near the town of Ozalj where the private chapel designed by this prominent architect is to be built.
Alvaro Siza won fame for his work "Boa Nova Tea House", situated not far from the town of Matosinhos where the architect grew up,
