The organisers of this 250-level ATP men's tennis tournament said on Friday that this year's big names would be Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas, whose current ranking is 25, as well as Portuguese Joao Sousa and Italians Fabio Fognini and Andreas Seppi
ATP Umag 2016 and its accompanying events such as Istria Gourmet Festival will again be one of the most important social events in Croatia, attracting not just the sporting elite but also the political, economic and show business elite.
The tournament is played on red clay courts. Carlos Moya has won the tournament a record five times.
Some 100,000 visitors are expected in to this Croatian coastal resort during the ATP tournament.
