The Turkish president was welcomed by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in her office. The two leaders began tete-a-tete talks and were later to be joined by their respective delegations involving several government ministers.
On arriving in Zagreb, Erdogan visited Mirogoj Cemetery where he laid a wreath at a monument commemorating those fallen in the 1991-1995 Homeland War.
During the visit, Erdogan and senior Croatian officials will discuss bilateral relations, in particular ways of strengthening economic cooperation, and attend a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of Islam in Croatia.
The Turkish delegation includes the ministers of justice, European affairs, economic affairs, energy, culture and tourism, as well as over 90 business people who will attend a business forum.
