The annual AAFS meeting brought together more than 5,000 members who over the six working days gave over 1,000 talks.
The AAFS is a multi-disciplinary professional organisation that provides leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. The objectives of the Academy are to promote professionalism, integrity, competency, education, foster research, improve practice, and encourage collaboration in the forensic sciences.
By being appointed head of its International Relations Committee, Primorac assumed the responsibility of heading the AAFS on the international front, coordinating work of the academy's members from all continents and promoting the principles and the criteria of the AAFS excellence.
