SARAJEVO, Feb 22 (Hina) - Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will host the next Brdo-Brijuni summit in late May, BiH Presidency Chairman Dragan Covic has said, as quoted by Sarajevo's Dnevni Avaz daily on Monday.
The Brdo-Brijuni process has been launched to encourage regional stability and cooperation.
Covic said it was already agreed for the summit to take place on May 29-30. "We expect the presidents of all the countries in the region to attend, but high guests from the European Union too. We will put special emphasis on a review and assessment of our countries' progress in Euro-Atlantic integration."
The presidents are also expected to discuss the implementation of conclusions adopted at a Zagreb summit held in November, which was also attended by US Vice President Joe Biden and European Council President Donald Tusk.
Covic recalled that the Zagreb summit clearly confirmed the commitment of the EU and the US to the preservation of stability and progress in this part of Europe.
The Zagreb summit ended with a declaration which underlines a commitment to strengthening trans-European partnership and support for EU and NATO enlargement to the countries which want to join. The participants also agreed on the need to jointly face challenges such as the migrant crisis and terrorism.
