BAT starts exporting its cigarettes produced in Croatia

ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina) - British American Tobacco (BAT), that took over Croatia's Tvornica Duhana Rovinj (TDR) tobacco factory two months ago has started exporting products manufactured in the Kanfanar plant and the first deliveries have been shipped to Greece, the company stated on Tuesday.
BAT's Peter Stuyvesant, produced by the Croatian factory for the first time, have been exported to Greece where this cigarette brand is very popular, according to a press release signed by Ram Addanki, the director of the BAT Adria cluster.

The factory in Kanfanar, Istria, has a capacity to produce 20 billion cigarettes annually and prior to being taken over by BAT, it manufactured 8 billion cigarettes annually.

BAT plans to raise this production in Kanfanar to 16-19 billion cigarettes annually in the next five years.

The Adria cluster, headquartered in Croatia, covers markets in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. TDR's business on the markets of Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Kosovo has been integrated into the BAT cluster for Central Europe, with its main offices located in the Czech Republic.
