Ibero-American films to be screened at Zagreb's Tuskanac cinema

ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - "The Strange Case of Angelica", a film by Portuguese film-maker Manoel de Oliveira, who died aged 105 in April this year, will open the eighth screening of Ibero-American films at Zagreb's Tuskanac cinema on November 4. The event features ten films of Portuguese, Argentinian, Chilean, Spanish and Brazilian cinema.

Shown will be "The Consul of Bordeaux", a film by Portuguese directors Joao Correa and Francisco Manso, "Lion's Den" by Argentinian Pablo Trapero and "Lion's Heart" by Argentinian Marcos Carnevale.

Chilean cinema will be represented by two films - "La chupilca del diablo" by Ignacio Rodriguez and "Root" by Matias Rojas Velencia.

Spanish film is represented by Gracia Quejereta's "15 Years and One Day" and Rodrigo Sorogoyen's "Stockholm".

The event will also feature two Brazilian films, "Blindness" by Fernando Meirelles and "Boss Nova" by Bruno Baretto. 

The screening of Ibero-American films has been organised in cooperation with the embassies of Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Spain. All films have Croatian and English subtitles.
