SARAJEVO, Oct 31 (Hina) - A majority of Bosniaks embrace Bosnia and Herzegovina as their homeland unconditionally, only a third of local Croats see Bosnia and Herzegovina the same way, while the country's Serbs' patriotic sentiments are very low, according to findings of a survey conducted by the Banja Luka-based "Prime Communications" market research agency.
The survey, conducted in May among 1,250 respondents aged above 18, shows that 56.5% of those polled answered in the affirmative when asked if they perceived Bosnia and Herzegovina as their homeland, while nearly one in five respondents (18.7%) said they "generally" considered Bosnia and Herzegovina as their homeland.
The findings were forwarded to media this past Thursday.
Broken down by the ethnic background of respondents, as many as 89.3% of Bosniaks said that Bosnia and Herzegovina was their homeland, and 28.7% of Croats thought the same.
A mere 13.3% of local Serbs unconditionally embrace Bosnia and Herzegovina as their country.
When it comes to the statement about the "general" acceptance of Bosnia and Herzegovina as one's homeland, this answer was ticked by every other Croat respondent (49.7%), by 26.4% of Serbs, and 5.5% of Bosniak respondents.
A third of Serb respondents, 33.9%, said they did not consider Bosnia and Herzegovina as their homeland.
