The Slovenian authorities cannot immediately send migrants and refugees towards Sentilj because the transit refugee camp in Sentilj can accommodate 2,000 and currently more than 4,000 people are staying there, given that the authorities in Austria had not approved new crossings over the night.
Migrants and refugees are therefore staying at improvised facilities in Dobova where they are provided with health care and humanitarian aid, the police in Novo Mesto have said.
The Slovenian government is scheduled to convene on Thursday to discuss Slovenia's actions in case countries that had been receiving the highest number of refugees close their borders.
