"That amount is the same as for the previous parliamentary election," Public Administration Minister Arsen Bauk said.
Political parties, independent slates and candidates nominated by ethnic minorities who win more than 5% of the valid votes in a constituency will receive HRK 180,000 for each seat. Those parties and independent slates at the election who get more than 5% of the valid votes in a constituency but do not win a seat in parliament are entitled to HRK 30,000 in compensation.
This compensation is paid into a separate account held by a political party to finance promotional material for the election. It is paid out of the state budget, 60 days after the final official election results.
The State Electoral Commission (DIP) on Wednesday reminded participants in the coming election that the most that can be spent on promotional material for the election in a constituency is HRK 1.5 million per slate or candidate and that parties were obliged to open a separate account for this purpose no later than the day of submitting their slates.
