The big wheel dance of Backa, the katanka dance and the wheel dance of Uzice were performed by members of 258 folklore troupes, consisting of both children and adult dancers from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Germany and Austria.
Project director Milan Veselinovic said that a commission on the ground confirmed that the six-kilometre wheel dance had not broken off at any segment of its entire length and that the world record had been broken.
The London-based commission of Guiness World Records is expected to confirm the record after it analyses written, photo and video materials about the event.
