Under the motto "Research for innovation - innovation for the public," twenty of the best Croatian research teams with around 200 researchers will present science to the public in Zagreb and Split from 6pm to 11pm.
"With the European Researchers' Night we wish to stress the importance of research and science to the general benefit of society as many of the things that surround us are the result of long, hard research and work and many people are not even aware of this," the head of the project for Croatia, Damir Kovacic, has said.
Various programmes have been adapted to various age groups so that they can join in in scientific experiments and speak with scientists. There will be games and contests with awards - diplomas for those participants who collect the required number of stamps in their roll books.
A special attraction this year will be a robot diver. Last year around 17,000 visitors attended the researchers' night in Zagreb and Split. This is the tenth year the night has been organised by the European Commission and the third year that Croatia has joined in.
