Croatian airports record 7% more passengers in Jan-July

ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - Croatian airports recorded 3.9 million passengers in the first seven months of 2015, which was 247,000 or 7% more than at the same time in 2014, according to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
The figures show that the number of passengers at the airports in July 2015 was 1.24 million, which was nearly 70,000 or 6% more than in July 2014.

The increase in the number of passengers in July was accompanied by an 8% increase in the number of aircraft operations (landings and take-offs) to nearly 14,000. The same increase was also recorded in the first seven months of the year, with nearly 53,000 landings and take-offs recorded.

Split Airport registered the largest number of passengers in July, 431,000, which was an increase of nearly 12% compared with July 2014. It was followed by Dubrovnik Airport with 327,000 passengers and Zagreb Airport with 277,400 passengers (both up 8%). 

Passengers mostly came from Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, France and Sweden.

Cargo operations at the Croatian airports in July, compared with June, increased by 9.4% to 755 tonnes, while in the first seven months they dropped by 2.2% to 4,301 tonnes.
