In response to great interest among Croatians, the environment ministry has decided to set aside an additional HRK 7.5 million for grants, and of that amount 5.5 million will be made available to citizens wishing to buy such types of vehicles and 2 million to companies, according to a press release issued by the ministry on Saturday.
The minister made this announcement during an event of promoting electric bicycles in the town of Jastrebarsko.
The head of the Environment Protection Fund, Sven Mueller, was quoted as saying that subsidies will account for up to 40% of the value of the purchased car, or a maximum 70,000 kuna for electric vehicles or up to 50,000 kuna for plug-in hybrids.
The new tender will be published on 23 September.
