The company conducted a survey among 200 business managers on payment habits, in Croatia and on the European scale, the poll showed that 22% of customers do not pay their bills on time. In eastern Europe that figure is around 25%, in western Europe around 19% fall into this category, while 29% of Croatian customers are irregular payers. The best paying customers are from Germany with around 17% being late in paying their bills.
The round table concluded that late payments were present all over Europe. However, differences in the duration of default lie in the strength of economies, legislation, and corporative measures and living standards.
There has been some improvement in payments in Croatia compared with last year, however, what is concerning is the high percentage of 34% of overdue or unpaid invoices in company-to-company payments.
Croatia has one of the longest due dates in Europe, on average 48 days, EOS Matrix director Barbara Cerinski said, adding that only in Greece it is still longer, 51 days.
