European Illustrated Glossary of Conservation Terms presented in Zagreb

Author: Roberta Mlinarić
ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - The EwaGlos Project, a richly illustrated glossary with informative photos, concise texts and illustrations designed to help readers understand terms in conservation terminology, was presented in Zagreb by the Croatian Conservation Institute (HRZ),  which is one of seven co-organisers of this project.
EwaGlos is a result of two-year efforts made by experts from Germany, Spain, France, Croatia, Malta, Romania and Turkey who worked on this European Illustrated Glossary of Conservation Terms for Wall Painting and Architectural Surfaces. The languages of this glossary that will be available to the general public are English, French, German, Croatian, Italian, Turkish, Spanish, Romanian, Hungarian, Polish and Bulgarian.

The total value of this project is EUR 398,000, and a half of this amount is covered by the European Union and another half by the countries-participants. The Croatian Conservation Institute has EUR 46,224 at its disposal for this purpose, with a half of this amount covered by the EU and the remainder by the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

In early October 2015, the glossary will be available to the general public as an inexpensive, not-for-profit print publication and as a free download on the Internet. The book will comprise about 420 pages: introduction, approximately 220 terms, material appendix, 11 indices, literature.
