officially open on Friday, June 12, at the new Olympic Stadium and the
Croatian flag is to be carried by Snjezana Pejcic, an Olympic bronze
medallist of the women's air rifle competition in Beijing in 2008.

(Hina) - The 1st European Games in Baku will
officially open on Friday, June 12, at the new Olympic Stadium and the
Croatian flag is to be carried by Snjezana Pejcic, an Olympic bronze
medallist of the women's air rifle competition in Beijing in 2008.
The Stadium in the Azeri capital which is to host the 2020 European Soccer Championship has a capacity of 68,700 spectators and tickets have long been sold out.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he will attend the opening ceremony as will his Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan while the heads of leading European countries will not attend.
Around 6,000 athletes will compete at the European Games in 24 sports. Croatia has 107 athletes competing in 18 sports.
The 1st European Games is an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Europe. It is scheduled to be held from 12 to 28 June 2015
