Retail loans decreased by HRK 650.4 million from March to April, and they increased by 1.5 billion kuna or by 1.2% from the end of 2014.
As high as 71% of retail loans were indexed to foreign currencies. Therefore, the latest appreciation of the kuna against the euro and the Swiss franc by 0.7% and 1.1% respectively on the month contributed to the month-on-month decline in loans expressed in the kuna, Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) analysts have explained.
On the other hand, the kuna depreciated against the Swiss franc by 16% on the year, which is seen as the reason why the total volume of retail lending on the year has increased.
