Author: spez
ZAGREB, May 6 (Hina) - Although 90% of Croatians consider breakfast to be an exceptionally important meal only 60% eat breakfast regularly while in Dalmatia it is considered to be the least important meal of the day, shows a survey of eating habits in Croatia conducted by the Hendal agency.

Almost half of Croatian citizens who skip breakfast said that they did not have time for breakfast or never acquired the habit.

Croatians usually start the day with a bun, bread or toast, some fresh fruit, cereal, muesli, cottage cheese and salami.

Men usually have sausages for breakfast with eggs, biscuits, bread, salami, bacon or a toasted ham and cheese sandwich while women usually choose something lighter like fresh fruit, cereal or muesli.

Breakfast is usually eaten at home although some working people will eat it on the go.

People with a higher education eat breakfast more often than those with a secondary education and income also impacts the frequency of eating breakfast.

People with household income between HRK 4,000 and HRK 10,000 eat breakfast on a daily basis more often than people whose household income is more than HRK 12,000 a month.
