The Italian head of state will arrive in Zagreb after visiting Slovenia on Wednesday, where he advocated the continuation of the enlargement of the European Union to western Balkan countries, the halting of the current immigration crisis off the European shores as well as stepping-up action by the European Union and international factors in Libya.
Mattarella is the second foreign president to visit Zagreb since Grabar-Kitarovic took office in mid-February. Her first guest was Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev who was on a two-day visit to Zagreb ten days ago.
