Jadranka thus became Croatia's first tourism company to join the Croatian-Korean Business Club, the Mali Losinj-based company said.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, Suh Hyung-Won, who said that a lot of Korean tourists were visiting Croatia, citing destinations such as Dubrovnik, Plitvice Lakes National Park and Zagreb. He added that because of their natural attractions the northern Adriatic island of Losinj and the Kvarner region could become new destinations for Korean tourists.
Jadranka CEO Sanjin Solic said that cooperation in tourism was one of the strongest links in maintaining the very good relations between the two countries, noting that Jadranka, as one of the leading Croatian tourism companies, could make its contribution to it.
Jadranka's executives presented to the Korean delegation its current and planned investment projects, worth over 200 million euros in total, which should ensure tourism services all year round.
One of the world's most developed countries, South Korea is increasingly becoming a global tourist destination, visited by over 11 million tourists annually.
Jadranka said that Croatia's accession to the EU has provided fresh momentum to the traditionally good economic and political relations between the two countries as Croatia has also become a partner to the Republic of Korea through the free trade agreement between the EU and Korea.
