Labour costs in Croatia in 2014 were 9.4 euros per hour while in 2013 they amounted to 9.6 euros per hour.
Croatia is ranked the same as the Czech Republic but is in a group of countries where labour costs are significantly below the EU average of 24.6 euros per hour. In 2013 those costs in the EU were 24.2 euros per hour.
The lowest hourly labour costs in 2014 were reported in Bulgaria, 3.8 euros, followed by Romania with 4.6 euros, and Lithuania and Latvia with 6.5 and 6.6 euros per hour respectively.
The highest hourly labour costs were reported in Denmark, 40.3 euros, followed by Belgium, with 39.1 euros, Sweden, with 37.4 euros, and Luxembourg, with 35.9 euros.
In the euro area, the average hourly labour costs in 2014 were 29.2 euros compared to 28.9 euros in 2013.
The share of contributions in total hourly labour costs in the EU in 2014 was 24.4%, and in the euro area it was 26.1%. The share of contributions was the highest in Sweden, 31.6%, and the lowest in Malta, 6.9%.
In Croatia the share of contributions in total hourly labour costs was 14.9%.
