ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - First Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Affairs Minister and Croatian People's Party (HNS) president Vesna Pusic said on Saturday she was talking about a date for the next parliamentary election with PM Zoran Milanovic, with October being one option and the beginning of 2016 another.

Speaking to the press, she said they had not agreed yet on the date of the election but that October was a relatively likely as well as logical time.

Asked if Milanovic agreed with holding the election in October, Pusic said they were discussing various possibilities. "But that's certainly a possibility. The other possibility is the beginning of next year."

She said the HNS believed that October was a logical and good time for the parliamentary election. Asked when it would be logical for her party to embark on the election campaign. "About three and a half years ago was the ideal time. That's how we started, that's how we will work."

Asked if President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic supported her candidacy for the UN secretary-general, Pusic said she believed she had the support of everyone who wanted to promote Croatia. "She told me that it would be good for Croatia," said Pusic, who the media say is one of the aspirants for succeeding incumbent Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, whose term expires at the end of 2016.
