The Federal Supreme Court upheld FIFA's ten-match suspension against Simunic and a CHF 30,000 fine for starting a discriminatory chant after Croatia beat Iceland in Zagreb in a play-off qualifier for the 2014 World Cup.
Simunic appealed FIFA's decision, but CAS upheld it. He then appealed to the Federal Supreme Court because CAS is within the jurisdiction of the Swiss legal order.
Before the trial, Simunic said he would even go to the European Court of Human Rights if necessary.
