ZAGREB, March 12
(Hina) - The Croatian Banking Association (HUB) on
Thursday said that it had not been informed of the government's
proposal to resolve the problem of housing loans denominated in the
Swiss franc by converting them into euro-pegged loans and writing off
part of the principal, but reiterated that the problem could be solved
only on a voluntary basis, taking into consideration social
differences and sharing the cost of such a move between banks, the
state and debtors.
