This is a unique project for Brodosplit which, by building grand blocks, has become an equal business partner to one of the biggest shipbuilding groups in the world, Italy's Fincantieri.
Brodosplit CEO Darko Pappo said the keel-laying was the continuation of long standing cooperation with Fincantieri and that the labour value exceeded EUR 3.5 million.
He said the same client had commissioned another ship and that Brodosplit had contracts for another 16 ships.
Pappo also announced that the shipyard would be hiring another 150 workers.
