Croatian NCO appointed top-level NCO official in NATO

Author: mses
ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina) - Croatian noncommissioned officer Davor Petek has been appointed by Philip Mark Breedlove, a U.S. general who currently serves as the Commander, U.S. European Command, an assistant commander for the preparation of soldiers and noncommissioned officers for NATO-led peace missions, and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with the appointment of the Croatian nominee among 19 candidates.

This is proof of professionalism and high-quality work of the Croatian Armed Forces, said President and Army Supreme Commander Grabar-Kitarovic at a seeing-off ceremony at Zagreb Airport before the departure of a Croatian contingent to Afghanistan for "Resolute Support" mission.

Petek, who has served in the peace missions in Afghanistan twice, said today that his new duty would be to prepare soldiers and NCOs for peace missions.

Petek will be performing that duty in the next three years.
