In most cases minor pregnancies are a shock to the girls themselves and their families. Family relations are usually disrupted but in most cases the families come to terms with the situation, Silvija Stanic of the Korak po Korak civil society organisation said this past Friday presenting the results of the three-year project "Mama je mama" (A mum is a mum) for young pregnant girls and their families.
The organisation has been offering support for around ten percent of young girls who find themselves without any family support after becoming pregnant, offering them a place to stay and assisting them with education, employment and so on, she said.
