Attending the event were also Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin and HTZ director Ratomir Ivicic, who have been promoting Croatia's tourism sector on the US market in recent days.
Lorencin said that tourists particularly appreciated quality and authenticity, noting that Croatia was very well known for its rich and diverse eno-gastronomy.
Croatia as a tourist destination is about much more than just "the sea and the sun", Lorencin said, adding that local food and wines were an important part of what the country had to offer its visitors.
Ivicic said that Croatia was a new destination in the US market and that this was why more and more US arrivals could be expected.
The event at Delmonico's brought together more than 50 participants, including numerous business partners and representatives of such media outlets as The Huffington Post, The New York Times, CNN, Fodor's, Travel + Leisure, and The Daily Food & Wine.
