January was the fifth month in a row to see a monthly rise in the number of unemployed people.
The HZZ said that 21,436 people were removed from the unemployment records in January, 8.2% less than in January 2014. Of that number, 11,836 found employment, while the rest were struck off the records for other reasons.
A total of 33,903 people were newly registered with the HZZ in January, or 11.3% less than in January 2014. Of them, 22,998 (67.8%) registered after losing their job, 9,320 (27.5%) came after a period of unemployment, 869 came after finishing their regular education and 716 came from other business activities.
