ZAGREB, Feb 8
(Hina) - The 200th birth anniversary of Croatian Roman
Catholic bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, who initiated and sponsored
the most important cultural, educational and research projects in
modern Croatian history, will be observed in Bulgaria, where his
contribution to local culture and the fight for freedom and
independence is greatly appreciated, the Croatian Academy of Sciences
and Arts (HAZU) said on Sunday.
