The legislative amendments to be adopted by late April will define regulations relating to working hours for medical staff and quality doctors could earn more, Assistant Health Minister Miljenko Bura said after presenting the foreign delegation with Croatia's potential in health tourism.
The ministry expects the delegation to promote Croatian medical services, set up personal contacts with leading doctors in Croatia and to generally promote Croatia, primarily to open avenues for British doctors to refer their patients from Arab countries for treatment in Croatia.
These are experienced and reputable doctors who over the past few days visited several medical institutions in Croatia. Some of these doctors treat members of royalty on the Arabian peninsula.
The Health Ministry expects to get some feedback from this visit in about a month and a half.
Abaker Adam, the director of Nur Holidays which organised the visit by medics, commented that as far as health tourism was concerned, Croatia was an "undiscovered jewel" and Nur Holidays wishes to present its health tourism primarily to Arab patients from the Middle East and African countries.
Croatia's openness toward patients from Arab countries, its natural wonders, primarily all its quality medical experts and advanced technology and techniques that they use in hospitals as well as private health institutions are the country's advantages that it should use to develop its health tourism. We hope this is the start of fruitful cooperation, Adam said.
