Analysts of IDC Adriatics, a research and consulting agency, project the rise in 2015 on the back of financial means to be approved from the European Union funds for IT projects, and also estimate that the first three quarters of 2014 indicate that 2014 would have better results than 2013.
Judging from data for the first three quarters of 2014, we estimate that the entire hardware market will rise 6% in 2014 compared to 2013 and reach the value of above USD 600 million, IDS Adriatics analyst Karlo Pernek has said.
The market of personal computers is expected to slightly rise, while data storage and server networking products market is likely to shrink in 2014 mainly due to a lack of large-size projects. Also the market of printing devices is affected by a lack of investment and decreasing purchasing power.
Pernek notes that the market of smartphones and tablets had risen as much as by 30% in 2014.
The IT services and packaged software including ERP, BI, CRM, Security and Storage can see a mild rise in 2014 compared to 2013, analyst Ivan Juras said.
Certain expectations have come from the Croatian government's announcement of the second phase of the ICT industry development and investments of 240 million euros in the years to come into the broadband Internet development, Juras added.
IDC Adriatics analysts also project a marked rise in spending on cloud services.
