Author: vmic
ZAGREB, Nov 14 (Hina) - A conference on challenges in the consumer goods, retail and agribusiness sector, organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will take place in Dubrovnik on November 16-18.

Representatives of the Croatian and foreign governments, industry and the financial sector, as well as experts from the food sector, will discuss future strategies for the agribusiness sector for the period until 2020 and ways of mobilising resources and increasing growth.

The conference will be opened by the EBRD Director for Croatia, Vedrana Jelusic Kasic, and the Croatian Minister of Agriculture, Tihomir Jakovina, who will participate in a round table on the agribusiness strategy until 2020.

Also attending as panellists will be Slovenian Agriculture Minister Dejan Zidan, MK Grupa CEO Miodrag Kostic, and the EBRD's senior banker for agribusiness in southern and eastern Europe, Miljan Zdrale.

The three-day conference will be held under the auspices of the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture.

The conference is the continuation of the EBRD's leading role in promoting the agribusiness sector, particularly in strengthening the role of the private sector, organisers said. Nearly 10 percent of the EBRD's annual investment is directed at that sector.
