Parliament Speaker Josip Leko led a state delegation which paid their respects, including wreath-laying and candle-lighting, at the Wall of Pain monument, the National Heroes Vault, the Central Cross in Homeland War Veterans Lane, the grave of the first Croatian president, Franjo Tudjman, the vault of unidentified Homeland War victims, and the graves of former prime minister Ivica Racan and and former parliament speaker Boris Sprem.
Before the state delegation, a delegation of veterans who have been protesting for nearly two weeks laid wreaths and lit candles at the Wall of Pain, the Central Cross in Homeland War Veterans Lane, the vault of unidentified Homeland War victims, Tudjman's grave and the grave of former defence minister Gojko Susak.
Veterans representative Ante Deur said War Veterans Minister Predrag Matic was incapable of running the ministry, that he had caused a rift between the government and war veterans, and that the protesting veterans insisted on his and the resignations of his deputy Vesna Nadj and assistant Bojan Glavasevic.
