Author: mses
ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - Deloitte's ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in Central Europe this year includes four Croatian companies - Infinum, Nanobit, Europa Digital and Lemax, Deloitte, a firm providing audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax and related services, has said.

Only Infinum has made it to the top ten fastest-growing companies. Owing to an average five-year growth of 1,168%, Infinum has taken 9th position in Deloitte's ranking.

The ranking, published for the 15th consecutive year, is topped by the Hungarian company Szallas.hu, specialising in on-line real estate trade, with an average revenue growth rate in the last five years of 2,259%.

The Polish web site for the comparison of financial operations Comperia.pl is second-ranked, with a growth rate of 1,962%.

The following three positions are occupied by new-comers - Serbia's High Tech Engineering Centre (1,777%), Romania's software company ITNT (1,433%), and Poland's Netguru, specialising in web site design (1,386%).

Most of the companies on the list are from Poland (17), followed by companies from Hungary (10) and Romania (6).

Broken down by sector, most of the companies specialise in software development or provision of some kind of Internet services.

Aside from the 50 fastest growing technology companies, Deloitte also published winners in the Rising Stars and Big 5 categories.

Thanks to an average revenue increase in the past three years of 2,746%, the Hungarian company Distinction, specialising in development of software for mobile applications, has won the first place. Poland's Goclever, specialising in computer hardware, is first in the Big 5 category for the second year in a row.

Deloitte's project Fast 50 is accompanied by an analysis of views of company directors on the situation in their respective industries.

Results of this year's survey show that innovation remains the biggest challenge for company managements (20%). Many of the companies have successfully mastered innovation as the driver of success, but maintaining the innovation rate in the long run is the biggest challenge, a director at Deloitte's business consultancy department, Ivica Perica, has said.

Companies covered by Deloitte's survey are ranked on the basis of the average sales revenue over a five-year period. The 2013 ranking is based on an analysis of revenues in the 2009-2013 period. Companies apply to be ranked themselves.
