Ambassador Suh said that this national holiday was celebrated on October 3 to commemorate the foundation of the first Korean kingdom in 2333 BC. One of the tasks of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is to bring the country's history and cultural heritage closer to the Croatian people, which is why it has been decided to celebrate its national holiday for the first time outside Zagreb, he added.
Speaking of communist-ruled North Korea and South Korea, or the Republic of Croatia, Ambassador Suh said that their unification was the national task of the Republic of Korea.
Expressing his best wishes for the Korean national holiday, Vukovar-Srijem County head Bozo Galic expressed hope for greater cooperation between Croatia and South Korea, particularly in using Korean experience in boosting economic development.
The Korean Embassy donated funds to the Vukovar-based association of parents of children with disabilities.
