ZAGREB, May 20
(Hina) - The Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC) highway
operator on Tuesday dismissed media reports saying that the reason why
a flood wave on the Sava River broke through the embankment at Rajevo
Selo, a village in the eastern Vukovar County, deluging a number of
settlements in the area, was the mining of sand from the embankment so
that it could be used in construction work on the Sredanci-Svilaj
section of the pan-European corridor 5C.
