ZAGREB, Feb 3
(Hina) - Gorski Kotar, a mountainous region in Croatia
between Karlovac and the seaport of Rijeka, has been struggling with
sleet and freezing rain since Saturday, and heavy snow and ice pellets
created havoc in forests, on roads and on the power transmission grid,
which was why the power outages were frequent throughout the weekend
and roads were closed to traffic due to fallen trees and black ice.
