ZAGREB, 4 Dec (Hina) - The European Handball Federation (EHF) will hold a ceremony in Vienna on 14 December, at which new handball players will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the sport.

On this occasion, Croatian handball players Igor Vori and Ivan Čupić will receive this honor, following the previous selection of Irfan Smajlagić, Ivano Balić, and Jelena Grubišić in last year's inaugural class.

On the same day, Vienna will host the final match of the Women's European Handball Championship, and the Hall of Fame will welcome 21 new handball players. In addition to Vori and Balić, notable inductees include former French stars Nikola Karabatić and Luc Abalo, Danish player Mikkel Hansen, and Swedish player Staffan Olsson, who will join the prestigious group.

The 44-year-old Igor Vori's career achievements include winning an Olympic gold medal in Athens in 2004 and an Olympic bronze in London in 2012. He has also earned one gold, two silvers, and one bronze at World Championships, as well as two silver medals and one bronze at European Championships.

With Hamburg, Vori was a European club champion, and he is currently coaching the Sesvete team.
